Physical Therapy

Goals and treatment may include:

  • Improving lower body strength and flexibility
  • Improving trunk control, posture, coordination, and balance
  • Increasing mobility and building endurance
  • Pain reduction

  • Teaching proper body mechanics to prevent injury

Occupational Therapy

Goals and treatment may include:

  • Improving upper body strength, flexibility, and endurance
  • Improving functional abilities: eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, homemaking, etc.
  • Restoring, maintaining and promoting overall fitness and wellness
  • Prevention of further disability: home assessments and modifications, adaptive equipment
  • Increasing safety awareness

Speech Therapy

  • Improving speech and voice clarity
  • Improving chewing and swallowing ability
  • Increasing comprehension and verbal expression
  • Maximizing cognitive language skills: memory, problem-solving and abstract reasoning
  • Resident and family/caregiver education and training for managing ongoing difficulties with communication, cognition, and swallowing
